Shell Marine today announced that it has renewed its technical partnership for four more years with the Philippines' University of Cebu - Maritime Education and Training Center (UC METC), which will see the company provide expertise in lubrication technology to the students and lecturers of the UC METC.

"We are exceptionally pleased to renew our technical partnership with Shell Marine. We are appreciative of Shell's efforts on imparting the latest technical knowledge from years of research to our maritime students and lecturers," said Atty. Go at the agreement's signing ceremony.

Under the agreement, Shell Marine will also provide its Rapid Lubrication Analysis (RLA) Onboard Plus Test Kit (Cold Corrosion Test Kit) to UC METC.

Shell Marine materials and products will be used by UC METC when lecturing on marine products and during the Shell Marine Technical Seminar.

Further, such materials will be used to provide knowledge and information related to Pilipinas Shell and Shell Marine during workshops or seminars.

"We continuously seek to support the development of seafarers. It is one of the shipping industry's most important professions and especially here in the Philippines where the talent is evident and the profession growing," said Shell Marine Executive Director Jan Toschka, who was also present at the agreement signing.

"By providing them with the latest insights in technology and innovation onboard, we can help prepare seafarers to tackle the technical challenges we see in today's maritime sector."
