Bunker Detective Asia Pte Ltd CEO, Kaivan Chinoy has announced in a emailed statement that the Council Committee for Inspection Bodies (CCIB) has awarded the accreditation to ISO/IEC 17020:2012 in the field of cargo inspection effective February 25, 2015.

At the same time, Bunker Detective's Management System has been upgraded to the ISO 9001:2009 International Standard.

"Our special thanks goes to our Operations Manager & Chief Surveyor Mr. Abdul Farhan heading the BD Asia operations. Without his dedication and commitment it would have been difficult to achieve these awards in such a short period of time," said Chinoy.

"Since the inception of BD Asia in September 2014 the company has come a long way. With our recent expansion into the Chinese and South Korean bunkering markets where we are flying out our own surveyors from Singapore, we are eying to recruit more surveyors over the next few months.

"BD Asia is committed towards maintaining the consistency in quality of service per International Standard ISO/IE 17020:2012 and Singapore Standard SS 600:2008 Code of Practice for Bunkering."

In December 2014 the Vancouver, Canada-headquartered marine surveying organisation opened a new subsidiary in Panama, and said is was looking to further expansion into the Middle East bunkering market.
