Hellenic Petroleum Temporarily Shutters Elefsina Refinery

Hellenic Petroleum S.A. (Hellenic Petroleum) says its Elefsina Refinery, will be temporarily shut down following a technical incident that occurred at the hydrogen production unit on July 10.

The company says its refineries at Aspropyrgos and Thessaloniki will be used to meet the needs of the domestic market and our international subsidiaries in the meantime.

"It was decided that maintenance works at all units of the Elefsina refinery, which were scheduled to be implemented gradually from the end of September 2017 until March 2018, will be carried out during the shut-down period," explained the company.

The completion of maintenance and the start-up of the refinery are slated for September 2017.
