Sojitz Eyes LNG Bunkering Development for LNG Terminal in Mugardo, Spain

Sojitz Corporation (Sojitz) today announced that it has acquired a 15 percent stake in Regasificadora del Noroeste S.A. (Reganosa), whose assets include a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal located in Mugardo, Spain that is set to be used as a LNG bunkering station.

The 15 percent stake comes as part of Sojitz's newly announced full ownership of First State Regasificadora S.L.U. (FSR), which will see the subsequent change of the company's name to Sojitz Regasificadora S.L.U. (SR). 

"Sojitz has been involved in the LNG business since the 1970s, having gained a wealth of knowledge and experience through LNG liquefaction and marketing activities, LNG trading and LNG import activities into Japan, wich notable investments in Indonesia and Qatar," explained the company.

"Sojitz will contribute its LNG expertise and other businesses experience gained through a wide range of general trading operations, to support the further development of the Mugardos LNG Terminal."
