Spain's Port of Bilbao Marks First LNG Bunkering Operation

Bahía de Bizkaia Gas (BBG) Friday announced that, along with the Basque Energy Entity (EVE) and the Port Authority of Bilbao, the company carried out the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering operation at Spain's Port of Bilbao.

The operation saw the bunkering of the LNG-powered MV Ireland, and was carried out through a five-hour truck-to-ship transfer.

The transfer was completed using a tanker from Molgas Energy S.A.U, (Molgas) - the first company to be authorised to conduct such supply operations at the Port of Bilbao.
