Glander International Bunkering Announces Three Internal Promotions in Dubai
Glander International Bunkering (GIB) today announced three "key" internal promotions in its Dubai office, which will see former Sales Manager Morten Langthjem taking on a new role as Managing Director.
Alex Margaritis, former Team Leader & Senior Bunker/Lubricant Trader, will succeed Langthjem as Sales Manager.
Meanwhile, Hernan Ortiz has been appointed to a newly created role as Business Development Manager.
"All three of the newly appointed candidates have played a critical role in guiding Glander International Bunkering DMCC through pivotal points in the office’s history," said Carsten Ladekjaer, Group CEO.
"As the group continues to expand its relationships regionally and internationally, we require the correct leadership and expertise in place to help us navigate and continue to thrive in an ever-changing marketplace."
Langthjem, who has has 25 years’ experience in the shipping and bunkering industry, joined GIB in 2014 as Sales Manager, having previously worked as Trading Manager for a Bunker supplier in Gibraltar.
Margaritis has been with GIB for seven years working as Team Leader & Senior Bunker/Lubricant Trader.
Ortiz has been trading for GIB for eight years, and has over 27 years' experience in the industry, including roles ranging from Shipowner, Agent, Physical Supplier, Trader, and Broker.
"Due to the specialised requirements of the group’s current and future clients, the prerequisite for a Business Development Manager with extensive expertise such as Hernan’s, has been the natural direction," said GIB.
