The Port of Helsinki Ltd. (Port of Helsinki) says its price list for 2018 includes a new element enabling vessels to apply for discounts on the basis of reduced environmental impacts.

Under the new discount scheme, a liner traffic vessel can receive a discount of as much as 3 percent if it has low emissions, its output noise level while in the passenger harbour is below 105 dB, or the the vessel has been the subject of investments or innovations that improve environmental efficiency, energy efficiency, or noise abatement.

"As we once again emphasise the importance of managing environmental impacts, we would like to thank our customers for good operations and offer them financial opportunities to develop their operations even further," said Aino Rantanen, Port of Helsinki Quality and Environmental Manager.
