ARA Physical Bunker Supplier Files for Bankruptcy

Physical bunker supplier Maritime Bunkering & Trading BVBA (MBT) has ceased operations and filed for bankruptcy proceedings.
Documents seen by Ship & Bunker show the move was effective June 23, 2016.
"Yes, the operations of MBT have come to an end, and I would like to say a thank you to all our past customers," a spokesperson for the company told Ship & Bunker.
After its start in 2009, MBT grew to operating a fleet of five barges supplying within the ARA region.
The company also worked as a global trader of MGO.
While MBT did not disclose its volumes, local market sources told Ship & Bunker the supplier had been handling around 500,000 to 600,000 metric tonnes of product per year.
