Arkas Bunkering Awarded Golden Anchor for "Best Bunkering Company"
Arkas Bunkering today announced it has won the Golden Anchor in the "Best Bunkering Company" category at Turkey's 11th International Golden Anchor Awards.
The award was received by Ufuk Erinc, General Manager of Arkas Bunkering and Trading S.A.
Arkas says it operates five modern double-hull barges, and as Ship & Bunker reported earlier this year, for 2015 was ranked as Turkey's new top supplier by volume, with 677,001 mt sold (584,814 mt fuel oil and 92,187 mt MGO).
The supplier said other factors leading to its selection as this year's winner included the supply of bunkers to petroleum exploration vessel Noble Globetrotter II last April.
The operation, using Arkas' bunker vessel M/T Cesme, was noted as Turkey's largest ever single MGO bunkering operation.
