China's Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) has signed a letter of intent (LoI) with Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement Ltd. (Bernhard Schulte) for the construction of a 7,500 cubic metre (cbm) liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessel, TradeWinds reports.

Bernhard Schulte is said to have ordered the ship to fulfill a charter agreement with Bomin Linde LNG.

As Ship & Bunker reported in October, Bomin Linde LNG had announced that it had secured the largest LNG bunker supply vessel of its kind through a time-charter contract with Bernhard Schulte

HMD did not provide comment on the news.

While the exact value of the vessel order has not been reported, it is said to be under $40 million.

The vessel is said to be expected for delivery in the second half of 2018.
