World Fuel Services Appoints New Chief Operating Officer
World Fuel Services Corporation (WFS) [NYSE: INT] today announced that Jeff Smith has been appointed Executive Vice President and COO of the company.
"We are excited to have Jeff join us to accelerate our digital transformation," said Michael J. Kasbar, WFS chairman and CEO.
"His expertise in bringing agility to business teams will be instrumental in driving improved operational performance to provide an exceptional experience for our customers and suppliers."
With more than 30 years of corporate experience, Smith most recently served as CIO of International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), from August 2014 through May 2017.
Smith is also noted to have led information technology and corporate business strategy in his previous roles as CIO and CEO of large organisations in telecommunications, technology and financial services, including Suncorp Business Services, Telstra Corporation, and Honeywell.
