DNV GL Wednesday announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with Prisma Electronics (Prisma), which will see DNV GL's ECO Insight vessel efficiency portal provide fleet performance analytics derived from LAROS onboard data.

Prisma's LAROS system is an onboard wireless data collection platform intended for vessel performance management, enabling remote monitoring and analysis of vessels' operational parameters.

"The partnership will enable customers to manage their entire fleet based on unified and reliable information from any vessel's system through the collection of data from all equipment of interest, normalising the data into meaningful KPIs for analytics, and the aggregation of homogenised data from multiple vessels into DNV GL's ECO Insight portal," said Christos Giordamlis, Managing Director of Prisma Electronics.

"The combined solution promises a new era in fleet performance management," he concluded.

DNV GL says it has been working with Prisma Electronics on customer projects for the last six months, and has found that the partnership between the two companies works both technically and operationally.

"By working with such a reliable remote condition monitoring supplier as Prisma Electronics, we can provide shipping companies with a complete overview of their fleet. Often only some vessels have autologging equipment onboard," said Ioannis Chiotopoulos, Regional Manager South-East Europe & Middle East at DNV GL Maritime.

"Our cooperation ensures there are no blind spots in our customer's fleet performance management," Chiotopoulos added, noting that data provided by Prisma also allows DNV GL to generate additional performance insights, including hull and engine degradation information, benchmarks, and market averages.

Last month, DNV GL announced that it had signed a new partnership agreement for ECO Insight with M.A.C. Solutions, intended to incorporate information from SDBnet, M.A.C.'s onboard vessel data collection system, into DNV GL's ECO Insight solution.
