Gazprom today announced that it has signed a Framework Agreement with Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Mitsui) for cooperation on small- and mid-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Japan and LNG bunkering in the Sea of Japan.

The agreement was signed today by Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Masami Iijima, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mitsui, at a working meeting between the two companies at the the Eastern Economic Forum 2017 in Vladivostok.

The meeting also addressed ongoing and future cooperation between the companies.

As Ship & Bunker reported last December, the companies have previously signed an Agreement of Strategic Cooperation, which will see the two companies collaborate in various areas, including Sakhalin II project expansion and LNG bunkering.

Last year, Gazprom had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mitsui to cooperate on feasibility and marketing studies related to LNG bunkering in Russia's Far East and the Asia-Pacific region.
