EC Releases MRV FAQ

The European Commission (EC) has released a series of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding the upcoming monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) legislation within the European Union.
Under the new rules, companies are to submit ship-specific monitoring plans to verifiers for approval by the end of the August 2017, with per-voyage monitoring set to start on January 1, 2018.
The FAQs' six sections include:
- SECTION I ON SHIPS COVERED BY THE MRV SHIPPING REGULATION
- SECTION II ON VOYAGES AND PORTS OF CALL
- SECTION III ON THE GEOGRAPHICAL SCOPE
- SECTION IV ON MRV OBLIGATIONS
- SECTION V ON MONITORING PLANS
- SECTION VI ON "PER VOYAGE" MONITORING
- SECTION VI ACCREDITATION OF VERIFIERS
