Johan Backas Appointed Managing Director at Eniram
Eniram today announced that Johan Backas has been appointed Managing Director of the company, effective September 1st, 2017.
Backas joins Eniram from the company's principal Wärtsilä, where he has held senior management positions since 2010.
Backas will report to Henrik Dahl, co-founder and former Managing Director of Eniram, who was recently appointed as Vice President of new Services 4.0 Business Line at Wärtsilä.
"Services 4.0 Business Line at Wärtsilä was established to introduce a new layer of software and data driven services for Wärtsilä within the marine and energy sectors," explained Eniram.
"With Eniram as its foundation, Services 4.0 mission is to help our customers capitalize the value of smart technologies and drive digitalisation of our industries."
In May, Wärtsilä announced that it had launched a "major" update to its performance monitoring system for commercial shipping operators - the Eniram SkyLight 2.0, which the company has said provides the tools needed to reduce fuel consumption and operate with lower emission levels.
