Glander International Bunkering has announced a "successful" first month at its new physical operations in Brazil, with its initial cargo having reportedly sold out within the first two weeks.

The new operations are off the shore of Recife, and serve South America's East Coast (ECSA).

The company said that it has positioned an offshore tanker in the intersection where the Europe- ECSA, North America-ECSA and Africa-North America routes cross.

"The shipping market is changing rapidly and it is important that we add value to our clients business," said Flavio Ribeiro, managing director of Glander International Bunkering in Brazil.

"The deployment of a high seas bunkering tanker in such a strategic location provides clients with the efficiency they need to cut costs and time in expensive port calls, for bunkers only operations as well long delays in busy terminals."

CEO Christoffer Berg Lassen added that low-sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) will now also be available at the offshore operations.

"We are following our commitment to expand our global presence by diversifying our supply opportunities in markets where we identify we can add value to our clients," he said.
