Executive Changes for Barge Operator Kirby
U.S. tank barge operator Kirby Corp. [NYSE:KEX] (Kirby) has made changes in its leadership structure as it prepares for the exit of its CEO later this year, the Houston Business Journal reports.
CFO David Grzebinski will now also serve as president and chief operations officer of the Houston-based company and will remain in the CFO position until February, when Andrew Smith will take over that role.
Smith joined Kirby as executive vice president of finance this week after serving as CFO of offshore geophysical services provider Benthic Geotech.
Grzebinski will take over as CEO this year, when the current CEO and chairman, Joseph Pyne, steps down from the position.
Pyne will remain chairman of the company.
Kirby reported record profits of $69.1 million in the third quarter of 2013, citing strong demand for marine transportation.
