Bunker price movements were mixed in North America on Wednesday, but Ship & Bunker data showed U.S. Gulf and Caribbean prices were mostly on the rise.
Houston IFO380 moved up $3.50 to $656.00 per metric tonne (pmt), climbing $5.50 week-on-week, and $28.00 higher month-on-month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) fell $2.00 to $752.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $96.00 pmt. MGO was up $2.00 to $1065.00 pmt, an increase of $11.00 since last Wednesday.
LA / Long Beach IFO380 moved down for the first time since February 5, 2013 falling $12.00 to $684.00 pmt, correcting some of Monday's $18.00 gain and putting the price $13.50 higher than this time last week. LS380 fell $18.50 to $800.00 making the premium for the ECA compliant fuel $116.00 pmt. MGO moved up $20.50 to $1118.00 pmt, up $33.50 since last Wednesday.
New Orleans IFO380 was up $1.00 to $655.50 pmt, an increase of $2.00 week-on-week, and up $15.00 since January 14, 2013. LS380 remained at $746.50 making the premium for the low sulfur product $91.00 pmt. MGO moved up for a seventh consecutive market day climbing $2.00 to $1066.00 pmt, $14.50 higher than this time last week.
Vancouver IFO380 climbed for a third consecutive day rising $5.50 to $669.50 pmt, up $14.00 week-on-week, and $35.50 higher than January 14, 2013. LS380 fell $1.00 to $905.50 making the premium for the low sulfur product $236.00 pmt. MGO climbed $7.00 to $1146.50 pmt, up $35.00 since last Wednesday.
