Cockett Marine Oil Adds U.S. Office
Cockett Marine Oil Ltd. (Cockett) says it is opening a new office in the U.S. to handle its business in the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
The office in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the company's 14th location around the world, will open on December 10, 2012.
Cockett is now owned jointly by Grindrod Ltd. and Vitol Holdings B.V. after Grindrod sold a 50 percent interest in the company to Vitol this year.
Cockett said in June that the new relationship with Vitol would help it increase its physical supply locations around the globe.
Karl Beeson, managing director at Cockett, said the new office in the U.S. capitalises on the new ownership structure.
"This new office and team will strengthen Cockett Marine's position in a very large market that by some estimates represents over 100 million tons of domiciled customer demand and regional supply," he said.
Among those working at the new location will be Stephen T. Leonard, who joined the company earlier this year and Peter Kratz, formerly of Glencore, Sargeant Marine, and Sahara Energy.
John Colliton, Patrick Lehmann, and Vivian Quintana, formerly of Sea Bunkering Americas (SBA) will join Cockett subsidiary Sea Marine Fuels LLC.
