Payment Difficulties Prompt Ban on PDVSA from Caribbean Oil Storage Facility
Tuesday October 24, 2017
Unpaid bills have forced out Venezuelan oil major PDVSA from Caribbean oil storage operated by US firm NuStar.
Over $26 million is owed by the state-owned Venezuelan oil company, according to a Reuters news agency report.
The suspension was triggered when the company missed a payment for the use of NuStar's Statia facility on the Caribbean island of St Eustatius, the report said citing documents seen by Reuters.
Neither company commented on the report
PDVSA had previously expanded its NuStar storage contract after a dispute over payment with US storage operator Buckeye Partners.
