Bunker Prices Climbing in Asia
Ship & Bunker price data showed that bunker prices were climbing in Asia, with IFO380 rising for a second consecutive day in Singapore, Busan, and Hong Kong.
Singapore IFO380 climbed $2.50 to $616.00 per metric tonne (pmt), rising $6.00 week-on-week, and $11.50 up compared to December 3, 2012. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) moved down $1.00 to $689.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $73.50 pmt. MGO rose $3.50 to $937.00 pmt, up $1.50 from last Thursday.
Busan IFO380 climbed $5.00 to $651.00 pmt, $12.50 higher than last Thursday, and $10.00 higher month-on-month. LS380 rose $2.50 to $786.00 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $135.00 pmt. MGO climbed $5.00 to $970.00 pmt, gaining $2.00 from December 3, 2012.
Hong Kong IFO380 rose $4.50 to $628.50 pmt, rising $7.00 week-on-week, and $11.00 higher than the price a month ago. MGO moved up $2.00 to $959.00 pmt, falling $1.50 from last Thursday, and down $12.00 month-on-month.
Tokyo IFO380 moved up for the first time since December 28, 2012 climbing $1.00 to $650.50 pmt, $1.50 higher than last Thursday, and down $5.00 from December 3, 2012. MDO climbed $2.00 to $960.50 pmt, up $5.50 week-on-week, and $2.50 higher than the price a month ago.
