Venture Energy, a clean fuels procurement and trading unit of Wah Kwong Maritime Transport, has partnered with CSSC Science & Technology and China Shipbuilding Trading Co on green methanol supply for the shipping sector.

The MoU establishes a long-term framework for green methanol offtake cooperation, Wah Kwong said in a press release on Friday.

The partnership will also cover technical work on green methanol production pathways, ISCC EU certification and full-chain delivery solutions aimed at supporting future marine fuel supply.

The companies said the cooperation is intended to support shipping’s low-carbon transition and accelerate the development of sustainable marine fuels.

Wah Kwong had established Venture Energy in Hong Kong in June 2025. At that time, the venture had nearly 500,000 mt/year of methanol supply under the MoU.
