MPA Opens Nominations for the 2015 Singapore International Maritime Awards
Nominations for The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA)'s 2015 Singapore International Maritime Awards (IMA) are now open, the MPA have announced.
The awards are held every two years and are given to individuals and companies who have made outstanding contributions to Singapore's development as a global maritime centre.
Seven categories are open for nominations, plus the SRS Green Ship of the Year Award which was introduced for the first time at the 2013 awards.
"The growth and success of Maritime Singapore is possible because of the hard work and dedication of the maritime community," said Andrew Tan, Chief Executive of MPA.
"To recognize those who have made significant contributions to Maritime Singapore, we will be recognizing individuals and companies for awards across various areas of excellence, from the development of Singapore as a maritime hub, bunkering, manpower development, R&D, to engineering and services excellence."
Awards will be given April 2015.
In April 2013 APL Yangshan, which has fuel-saving features including an electronically controlled main engine and cold ironing capacity, received the first Green Ship of the Year award.
