Chintha Sasidhar, managing director of India's Krishnapatnam Port Company Limited (KPC), says the port is slated to receive new bunkering facilities as part of a new two terminal expansion, Indian media reports.

The project is said to include a new Ro-Ro terminal, liquid bulk terminal, as well as rig repair and offshore facilities.

Sasidhar says the expansion will play a significant role in the region's industrial development, and will help the port become a gateway for trade, supporting associated companies in the process.

In January, Ship & Bunker reported that KPC had signed an agreement with the Government Andhra Pradesh and Petrogas Pvt. Ltd. (Petrogas) to develop a floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification and storage terminal at the eastern Indian port.
