Singapore June Bunker Sales Down for a Second Month

Official data from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) shows the monthly total volume of bunkers sold in Singapore has fallen for a second month, slipping almost 1.5 percent month-on-month to 3,478,200 metric tonnes (mt) for all products.

The total was down 168,700 mt, or 5 percent, compared to the period last year.

Sales of the the port's most popular grade, IFO380, slipped 1.7 percent to 2,588,700 mt, while low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) fell some 23.8 percent to 41,600 mt.

Monthly sales of increasingly popular 500 cSt grade bunkers remained over 600,000 mt for the third consecutive month despite dropping back slightly in June to 641,600 mt, from 644,300 mt last month.

Vessel arrivals at the port for June 2013 were reported at 11,565, down 2.0 percent from 11,803 last month, while vessel calls for bunkers slipped 1.7 percent to 3,227, compared to 3,282 last month.
