Italian bunker company Maxcom Bunker S.p.A (Maxcom Bunker) today announced it has appointed Dr. Aldo Lancia as managing director and single administrator of the company effective November 13, 2017.

The move comes after an arrest warrant for previous managing director Dr Marco Porta was issued last month as part of an investigation by the Italian authorities into alleged Libyan fuel smuggling activities.

"Dr. Lancia is a professional figure of stature, with great experience in leading international oil companies; he is renowned for his high level of managerial skills and his law-abiding commitment to transparency, with which he successfully directs companies involved with the production and commercialization of oil products," a statement issued today by Maxcom Bunker read.

"He has taken on his new role and has immediately started working to maintain maximum operativity and performance of the company, which have always distinguished Maxcom Bunker S.p.A. and the other companies in the group. Dr. Lancia, the members of the board, the administrative staff and all of Maxcom personnel are available to provide whatever information may be requested."
