Azane Keeps Ammonia Bunkering Terminal Projects on Track for 2029
Norwegian firm Azane Infrastructure has said it is continuing development of three Enova-backed Norwegian ammonia bunkering terminal projects and aims to have them operational by 2029.
The projects, located at Floro, Stavanger and Mongstad, are intended to support the use of ammonia as a zero-carbon marine fuel, the firm said in an email update on the projects on Tuesday.
It will form the basis of a future ammonia bunkering network along the Norwegian coast.
Azane said it remains committed to delivering the terminals in line with its agreement with Norwegian state enterprise Enova, which supports projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
"We are continuing all three projects with full commitment and in close alignment with the plan agreed with ENOVA," Steinar Kostøl, CEO of Azane, said.
The company said the terminals would help establish the infrastructure needed to support ammonia-fuelled vessels engaged in coastal and offshore operations.
Azane Infrastructure, established in 2025 as a subsidiary of Azane Fuel Solutions, focuses on the ownership and operation of ammonia fuel supply infrastructure for the shipping sector.
