Alfa Lavel Receives New Scrubber Order
Sweden's Alfa Laval has announced it has received a repeat order for its exhaust gas cleaning systems worth approximately SEK 55 million ($7.6 million).
"I am very pleased to announce this repeat order for our scrubber technology. The order confirms our system's reliability and performance for reducing sulphur oxide, be it for retrofits or for installation aboard new vessels," said Lars Renström, President and CEO Alfa Laval.
The order is for four of Alfa Laval's PureSOx closed loop exhaust gas cleaning systems, which will be installed on newly-built vessels.
The order is scheduled for delivery in 2015 and 2016.
From January 1, 2015, vessels operating in Emission Control Areas (ECAs) must use a marine fuel not exceeding 0.10 percent by weight, or use an equivalent method of compliance such as an exhaust gas cleaning system.
Alfa Laval also previously announced an order for its exhaust gas cleaning systems worth SEK 75 million back in May of this year.
