Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. (MSC) has confirmed that its 4,507 TEU container vessel MSC Brianna was struck by the 6,400 DWT bunker barge Erato on August 23 while berthed in the Port of Piraeus, World Maritime News Reports.

While the company did not disclose whether the barge was damaged during the incident, MSC Brianna is said to have sustained minor hull damages.

"Having concluded cargo operations the vessel is undergoing repairs and is expected to resume service on about August 26," said a MSC spokesperson.
