Gulf Petrol Supplies LLC (Bunkers) has expanded its team in Fujairah with the addition of two new bunker traders, Gaurav Dwivedi GM- Trading has told Ship & Bunker.

Deepak Dharwal and Prashant Sarkar will focus on businesses in the Indian sub-continent with other major ports worldwide, he said.

"Deepak Dharwal holds more than 10 years of work experience and has worked in varying roles in the bunker industry. He had worked in Singapore as a broker covering Far East ports and also holds expertise in the Middle East market on the physical supplier side. He has an extensive portfolio of contacts throughout the Middle East, Asia and Europe," Dwivedi explained.

Sarkar, meanwhile, was said to have a widespread knowledge and experience of Indian ports, and the Indian sub-continent.

"His expertise in physical and B2B business in the region will allow him to develop new clients and maintain excellent services to meet our customers expectation. Sarkar has extensive strong forte as supply trader in all the major and minor port of India," said Dwivedi.

The addition of the new traders is part of wider plans to expand into other major ports to meet their customers' growing bunker requirements.

As part of those plans, the company is also targeting bunker sales growth of up to 20 percent to 100,000 metric tonnes (mt) per month for the 2017-2018 year, and has longer term ambition to add two more bunker barges.

"FNG was active in reselling of marine fuel since 1989 under the company name Fujairah National Shipping Agency (FNSA). We would like to continue with a more focused strategy as customers already know our credibility as a bunker company," Dwivedi told Ship & Bunker.

"GPS (Bunkers) is a major reseller of marine fuel in Indian Sub-Continent with a major share of volume and we would like to add few more ports in our coverage as we have a strong shipping customer base doing 80 percent of our physical bunker volume with direct shipping clients."

GPS (Bunkers), a part of Fujairah National Group, currently operates two barges in Fujairah; m/t FNSA 10 and m/t FNSA 11 with a capacity of 6,200 mt each. The supplier also pioneered the use of a mass flow meter (MFM) for bunkering at Fujairah port on its barge Mt FNSA 10.

The company is also part of the GPS-Chemoil joint venture with major shareholding that operates a terminal of almost 700 K cbm in Fujairah.
