UKMTO Reports Crude Tanker Struck in Strait of Hormuz

A crude oil tanker was reportedly struck by an unknown projectile yesterday, according to a British government agency monitoring maritime security in the region.
The vessel was hit on the port side, with authorities investigating the incident, UKMTO said in a social media post on Wednesday.
“A verified source has reported that a crude oil tanker has been struck on the port side by an unknown projectile,” UKMTO added.
“Authorities are investigating.”
“Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.”
The incident follows another projectile strike on a vessel in the region on Monday. The attack caused a fire, which was later extinguished.
