DNV GL has announced the release of its upgraded fleet performance management solution, ECO Insight 2.0, which is said to offer a more intuitive design and interface, and includes the launch of a new mobile app that enables customers to track vessels performance information in real-time.

"Based on the feedback from almost 100 customers, we have focused on improving usability and providing more operational support in ECO Insight 2.0," said Dr. Torsten Büssow, Global Head of Fleet Performance Management at DNV GL – Maritime.

Büssow explains that users can now set up the display of their fleet performance information in a way that suits their needs.

The company notes that, at the centre of the new release, is a new home page with an interactive map, live vessel positions and tracks, numerous weather overlays, and nautical information.

The new mobile app will enable customers to access more performance KPIs, track vessels, and receive daily alerts on performance and data quality issues.

"I would like to thank all of the customers that have made ECO Insight such a success," said Büssow.

"In just over two and a half short years we have become the market leader in performance management, with more than 1,600 vessels signed up to ECO Insight / and Navigator Insight. Our customers have provided us with a wealth of input and insights through many, many joint projects, and we look forward to saving even more fuel through greater efficiencies in the future."

Last month, DNV GL announced that Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. (Yang Ming), in an effort to further boost its bunker-saving efforts, was set to implement ECO Insight within its fleet.
