New Methanol-Fuelled Boxship Joins CMA CGM Fleet
Another methanol-fuelled container ship has joined French shipping firm CMA CGM's fleet, adding to its growing number of vessels capable of running on methanol
The 15,000 TEU CMA CGM Lorenzaccio is part of a series of six container ships, the company said in a LinkedIn post on Friday.
CMA CGM operates a growing fleet of methanol-fuelled container ships.
Earlier this month, the company took delivery of another methanol-fuelled vessel with a capacity of 13,000 TEU.
The container shipping sector has accounted for a large share of methanol-fuelled vessel orders.
The growing number of methanol-capable ships entering service is expected to support demand for marine methanol.
CMA CGM Lorenzaccio will join the firm’s REX 2 shipping service, which connects Asia with the Red Sea.
