AISSOT Hails Maiden Bunkering in Iraq

Al-Iraqia Shipping Services & Oil Trading (AISSOT) today announced it has successfully completed its maiden supply of bunkers in Iraq to vessel.

The new supplier said on September 16 it loaded 800 metric tonnes (MT) of 380 cSt ISO:8217-2010 spec bunkers onto the 280,000 DWT VLCC MT New Discovery.

The tanker was loading crude oil from Basrah Oil Terminal, Iraq on her voyage to Vadinar Port, India, AISSOT noted.

MT New Discovery on 16th September 2017. AISSOT bunker barge supplied 800 MTs of FO 380 cSt meeting ISO:8217-2010 specifications strictly as per MARPOL guidelines.

The news means the supplier has begun operations ahead of schedule, having previously targeted September 20 as the date it would commence bunkering in the country.
