European Ports Set to Be Affected by Dockworker Strike Action

As a show of support for their Spanish counterparts who are fighting against port reform, dockworkers at European ports are set to stop work for two hours on June 29, World Maritime News reports.

Decided upon at the International Dockworkers Council (IDC) last week, the stoppages are scheduled to take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

As Reuters reports, Spanish port docker unions have added to several days of strike action to initally planned stoppages.

Between June 26 and 28, June 29 and July 1, July 3 and 5, 6, and 8, Spanish dockers are reported to be set to strike on alternate hours for 48 hour periods.
