Ascenz Solutions Pte Ltd (Ascenz) says its Shipulse system has received certification under the standards of ISO/IEC 27001:2013 for the provision of remote monitoring of bunkering and fuel consumption for marine and offshore vessels.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 covers the management of information security risks, with compliance indicating that Ascenz's Shipulse product offers adequate security controls and that Ascenz uses a process-based framework to help establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve Information Security Management.

"Being Asia's leading provider in maritime IOT solutions, Ascenz recognizes that having a secure and robust infrastructure in information security is extremely vital," said the company.

"The attainment of the ISO 27001 certification demonstrates that our company's data management system is developed and managed according to the best practices established for information security."

In July, Bureau Veritas S.A. (Bureau Veritas) announced that it had signed an agreement with Ascenz to provide ship performance and monitoring solutions to shipowners globally to support bunker savings.
