Nina Østergaard to Chair Bunker Holding as Part of Leadership Change

Global marine fuels group Bunker Holding today announced Nina Østergaard as its new Chair amid a leadership shuffle that also incldues the addition of three new members to the board.

Østergaard, who is CEO and co-owner of parent firm USTC, will succeed Klaus Nyborg as chairman, Bunker Holding said in an email update on Tuesday.

Henrik Andersen, group president and CEO of wind turbine firm Vestas Wind Systems, will join the board as vice chairman.

Tina Revsbech, CEO of Maersk Tankers, and Kenneth Steengaard, chairman of the board of hedging firm Global Risk Management, have also been appointed as new board members.

The addition of Steengaard moves Bunker Holding closer to its sister-company Global Risk Management.

The company said the appointments bring extensive experience in leadership, shipping, energy and risk management, supporting Bunker Holding’s continued development and strategic ambitions.

“I am excited to take on the role as Chairman of Bunker Holding at an important time in the company’s development, Østergaard said.

“Bunker Holding has a strong market position, a clear strategic direction, and significant opportunities ahead.”

As part of the changes, current chairman Nyborg and board member Peter Frederiksen will step down from the board.

Bunker Holding founder and co-owner Torben Østergaard-Nielsen thanked both departing members for their contributions.

“Klaus Nyborg has played an essential role in the development of Bunker Holding over many years,” Østergaard-Nielsen said.

Bunker Holding is the world's largest marine fuels company by sales volume and topped the Top 10 Bunker Companies for 2026 report compiled by Ship & Bunker.
