Scorpio Bulkers Buys Six Ultramax Ships

Dry bulk operator Scorpio Bulkers has bought six, ultramax vessels for $143 million.
The ships are a few years' old and the acquisition will be financed by cash on hand and from new debt facilities currently under discussion, the company said in a statement.
The New York-listed company made an agreement with "an unaffilliated third party" to acquire the ships, it said.
The firm selling the ships has been reported in the maritime trade press as being the Golden Ocean Group.
