Colonial Oil Acquires Fuel Distributor Atkinson
US marine fuel supplier Colonial Oil Industries has acquired Georgia-based distributor of fuel and lubricants, Atkinson Oil Company.
The acquisition is set to expand Colonial Oil’s presence across the Southeast and enhance its distribution network, Colonial Oil said in a statement on its website on Friday.
The company provides bunker fuels at various locations across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, with deliveries of grades like LSMGO, ULSMGO and IFO blends made via barge, truck, and pipeline, according to its website.
The deal also brings 14 Atkinson employees into Colonial Oil as part of the integration, with both companies stating customers can expect uninterrupted service.
“The Sandersville and Macon markets serve as a natural extension of our growth strategy,” Christian Demere, president and CEO of Colonial Group, said.
