No Bunker Spill After Montreal Collision
Tuesday August 6, 2013
Two vessels were left damaged Saturday, but there was no bunker spill, after a collision at the Canadian port of Montreal, le journal de Montreal reports.
The incident occurred at about 9 pm, and involved the Panama flagged cargo ship M/V Heloise and a tugboat, the Ocean Georgie Bain.
In a statement on Sunday, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) said it sent a team of investigators to the scene to "gather information and assess the occurrence."
No injuries reported, and the two boats are now docked while investigations are under way.
The TSB says it is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway, and aviation transportation occurrences.
