Bomin Group Appoints New Vice President for U.S. Operations
Bomin Group has appointed Chris Nelson as its new vice-president for supply and operations in North America, the company has announced in an emailed statement.
Nelson will be based out of Houston, and will manage the company's day-to-day supply operations.
Part of his duties will be to work on increasing the operational efficiency of the bunkering process, along with working with the senior team to drive growth in the North American market.
"As a market it is going through exponential change on the back of new regulations, and the increase in shale gas production, which is influencing the marine fuel supply chain," said Bomin Bunker Oil Corp. President Gene Owen, who also added that the continent was a key region for the business.
"As a leading fuel supplier, we have a significant role to play in helping our customers manage this change and providing them with fuel solutions that meet the demands of their operations.
"Having the infrastructure, scale, knowledge and the best people in our business, is central to delivering this."
Nelson comes to the position after having worked in the bunkering business for SK Energy Americas Inc, PetroChina International (America) Inc, Chevron, and OceanConnect, the company said.
In May, The Bomin Group announced that it would be expanding into Far East Russia.
