Monjasa Signs Five-Year Cooperation Agreement With Panama Canal Authority
Global marine fuel supplier and trading firm Monjasa has signed a five-year cooperation agreement including decarbonisation initiatives with the Panama Canal Authority.
Under the agreement the two parties will work together on targeted projects in environmental protection, comprehensive well-being, culture, community development, and education, the canal authority said in a statement on its website on Tuesday.
The deal includes actions on decarbonisation and emissions reduction, aligned with the IMO's objectives.
"Monjasa fuels global maritime trade and it is a privilege to further deepen our relationship with the Panama Canal Authority on this important agenda," Rasmus Jacobsen, managing director of Monjasa Americas, said in the statement.
"Our local presence must also benefit the communities and the environment around the Panama Canal."
Monjasa launched sales of biofuel blends in Panama at the start of last year.
