Marine fuels firm TFG Marine has fitted mass flow meters (MFMs) on more than 90% of its global bunkering fleet.

The latest installation was completed on the Storholmen on the US Gulf Coast, taking the company’s MFM installations in the region to three in less than two months, the firm said in a LinkedIn post yesterday.

The Storholmen follows MFMs installed on Buffalo B414 and Buffalo B304 barges in the US Gulf Coast.

The systems are ISO 22192-certified and are being rolled out to improve the accuracy and transparency of bunker quantity measurements.

TFG Marine said the wider MFM rollout is part of its digitalisation programme and is intended to give customers greater confidence in bunker deliveries.

The company also urged port authorities and regulators to support the wider use of certified MFM technology across the bunkering sector.
