Petro Inspect Launches New Operation in Brazil

Petro Inspect today announced the next phase of its global expansion with the launch of Petro Inspect Brazil De Inspecao Marítima S.A., its new operation in Brazil

Additionally, Mr. Gilson Riberio has been appointed as the Operations Manager / Chief Surveyor of Brazil and South Americas region effective November 01, 2016.

"Gilson has the combined practical experience of over 20 years in various marine surveying activities ranging from bunker quantity surveys, on / off hire and conditions surveys, bunker detective surveys, loss control / marine expeditor on crude/product tankers to container inspections, grain loading surveys, hold inspections, load/stow/securing surveys, high value project cargo risk assessments including wall wash tests on chemical tanker," Petro Inspect said of the former Intertek man.

"Gilson will be heading our South American operations and will be actively involved in business development. Further, Gilson's broad based knowledge of the Brazilian bunkering market and with over 2000+ surveys under his belt, will surely make a positive impact on the growth and success of the company."

Petro Inspect says its surveyors will be operating out of three key ports:

  • Paranagua, also the headquarters of Petro Inspect Brazilian operations, covering Southern Brazil up to Rio Grande
  • Santos, covering ports of Rio de Janeiro/Vitoria/Tubarao etc.
  • Macapa, covering northern ports of Sao Luis / Maranhao/Belem/Barcarena etc.

In addition to the Paranaguá, Petro Inspect also has offices in Vancouver, Seattle, Singapore, Panama City, Fujairah, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Amsterdam.
