Harvey Gulf Takes Delivery of Latest LNG-Powered OSV
Harvey Gulf International Marine LLC. (Harvey Gulf) has taken delivery of Harvey Freedom - the fourth in a series liquefied natural gas (LNG)-fuelled offshore supply vessels (OSVs), Marine Log reports.
The new vessel is noted to be certified under ABS' Green Passport - said to put the vessel among the most environmentally-friendly OSV's in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Harvey Freedom, which will be based out of Port Fourchon, Louisiana, is set to be put on a five-year charter with an oil and gas major.
"The delivery of the Harvey Freedom and commencement of her five-year charter shows Harvey Gulf's continued commitment to the environment and the success of LNG power in our industry," said Shane Guidry, Chairman and CEO of Harvey Gulf.
In September, Harvey Gulf said its construction drawings for a LNG-fuelled, 4,000 cbm LNG supply vessel (ATB) had received approvals from ABS and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG).
