More Lines Reduce Hawaii Bunker Surcharges
Friday March 15, 2013
Pacific shipper Horizon Lines (Horizon) and Pasha Hawaii Transport Lines (Pasha) have said they will drop their bunker fuel surcharge for Hawaii 3.5 percentage points effective this Sunday March 17, 2013.
The move follows Matson Navigation Company Inc. (Matson)'s reduction of its bunker surcharge in Hawaii, which will also be effective this Sunday.
Horizon's drop matches Matson and will fall from 43.5 percent to 40 percent, while Pasha's will go from 39.5 percent to 36 percent.
Announcing the change, Matson said customers will save around $80 to $140 per container.
