New Player Enters Bahamas Bunker Market
Nassau-based Triton Global Petroleum Limited (Triton) has announced the launch of its Marine Bunkering Service in The Bahamas, the company said in and emailed press release.
The Crude Oil and refined petroleum products trader, whose existing core trade is in aviation fuels, said the move is part of a "natural progression" that allows it to further enhance its capabilities within the refined petroleum product supply chain.
"This is a significant move for Triton and highlights the growing strength of our operations, as we believe that the move will serve to meet the growing demand of customers who are interested in implementing the most cost effective fuel procurement strategy," commented company spokesperson Alphonso Bowe.
"Triton is certain that synergies created through strategic alliances will result in more competitive pricing and a higher quality service to shippers accessing Grand Bahama and its surrounding ports."
Bowe indicated that a vessel will be delivered within the next few months to provide services in the area of the Freeport Harbour, Bahamas Oil Refining Company limited (BORCO), Freeport Container Port, and Statoil South Riding Point Terminal.
"No longer will there be one supplier maintaining a monopoly in the bunkering business in Freeport. Triton has unrivaled experience in providing Petroleum Trading Services and this expansion into Marine Bunkering is a direct result of requests from customers who are looking for a reliable supply service in the market," Bowe concluded.
