Mexican LNG infrastructure company Ernestas has announced a strategic partnership with Power LNG to develop LNG infrastructure, including bunkering at the Port of Galveston in Texas.

Ernestas will provide capital, LNG transportation and storage equipment, and downstream operating expertise for Power LNG’s Harborside Terminal and Project Seawolf on Pelican Island, the two firms said in a press release on Wednesday.

The partnership will allow LNG distribution by truck to begin while Project Seawolf is under development.

The LNG will be used to support bunkering of LNG-fuelled ships.

Project Seawolf is planned as an LNG liquefaction and marine bunkering facility. It will also support truck loading, virtual pipeline distribution and international exports.

“Together, we can immediately begin serving customers while laying the foundation for one of the most strategic LNG bunkering facilities in North America,” Austin Terry, Founder and CEO of Power LNG, said.

"We see tremendous opportunities in marine bunkering, virtual pipeline logistics, industrial LNG supply, and exports to Latin America and the Caribbean, and we are excited to build that future together," Caio Zapata, CEO of Enestas, said.

Energy firm Stabilis Solutions is also developing an LNG facility in Galveston.
