Norway-based Zinus AS has secured its first shore charging contract in Australia, winning an order to supply charging infrastructure for Barangaroo Wharf in Sydney.

The contract was awarded by UGL Transport for Transport for NSW, Zinus said in a statement on its website on Thursday.

Zinus will deliver its autonomous DC Charging Tower, the ZPP800, to support vessel electrification at the wharf.

The company said the project marks its entry into the Australian market, which it sees as offering significant long-term opportunities for shore power and sustainable transport infrastructure.

Zinus said the Barangaroo Wharf installation is expected to serve as a reference project in Australia and could help support future opportunities across the region.

"Entering the Australian market is an important strategic step for us, and doing so through a high-profile project at Barangaroo Wharf makes it even more special," Geir Arne Bjørkelund, Sales Manager at Zinus AS, said.
