The China Navigation Co. Pte Ltd (CNCo) has ordered four B.Delta37 fuel-saving handysize bulk carriers, bringing the Deltamarin Ltd (Deltamarin)-designed vessels ordered by the company to 16, Russian industry news site IAA PortNews reports.

The company's first order in the series, MV Wuchang, has successfully completed sea trials and is due for delivery at the end of October.

The sea trial was the first for the B.Delta37 eco handysize design, and showed the vessels to be the most energy efficient of its kind available.

Chengxi Shipyard in China is building the 39,000 deadweight tonne (dwt) vessels, which will operate worldwide as part of CNCo's drybulk division, Swire Bulk.

Deltamarin said in May that it had received 59 orders for the B.Delta bulk carriers, including multiple orders from CNCo.
